Stephen Watkins, Director

Steve is an economist and qualified accountant with 30 years healthcare experience. Steve has worked across the NHS in acute care, primary care, mental health, strategy and commissioning. As a Director of the Network, Steve leads national projects that compare and analyse mental health, learning disabilities, emergency care, radiology, pharmacy and corporate functions. He also leads on the delivery of a range of bespoke analytics and research projects for a range of national organisations including Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England, NHS Improvement, and Health Education England. Steve also develops the Network’s international work programme and has presented the Network’s mental health work at the International Initiative for Mental Health Leadership (IIMHL) and Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Claire Holditch, Director

Claire qualified as a chartered accountant and worked in corporate finance for many years. Since completing an MA in organisational dynamics 10 years ago, she has worked with the NHS applying her experience of strategic planning and project management. Claire is a Director of the NHS Benchmarking Network and leads on the Network’s work on community services, community hospitals, acute therapies, older people and operating theatres. She leads on project work for individual trusts/CCG in the areas of intermediate care, community services and integrated discharge. Claire works closely with the British Geriatrics Society to deliver the National Audit of Intermediate Care and is Project Director for the National Audit of Care at the End of Life.

Debbie Hibbert, Programme Manager

Debbie is an experienced NHS Manager who has spent most of her working life in operational management roles within the NHS, covering acute, community and mental health services. Debbie has a BA(Hons) in Public Administration and is IHSM qualified. Debbie leads on the Network’s community sector benchmarking projects, manages the Delayed Transfers of Care / Older People’s benchmarking projects, is the Project Manager for the National Audit of Intermediate Care (NAIC), and the Project Manager for the National Audit of Care at the End of Life (NACEL). She has been involved with a number of provider organisations, CCGs and Local Authorities working on intermediate care strategies, community services reviews, mental health modernisation projects and integrated hospital discharge team development.

Aidan Rawlinson, Programme Manager

Aidan is a project manager and information analyst with over 15 years’ experience of designing and running benchmarking projects. Aidan has a masters degree in Biochemistry and spent 12 years as part of CIPFA’s benchmarking team. Currently, Aidan is managing a number of projects for the Network which include Radiology, Pharmacy and CCG Functions, and a variety of projects for NHS Wales. Aidan has exceptional VBA skills and is always innovating and producing new reporting systems and analytical tools for Network members.

Zoë Morris, Programme Manager

Zoë has over 10 years’ experience of running healthcare improvement projects in the North West of England and also further afield in Australia, Sierra Leone, Mexico Colombia and the USA. Zoë originally joined the NHS on the Graduate Management Training Scheme. She has a masters degree in Healthcare Leadership and Management, along with a further masters degree in Computational Linguistics. Zoë currently leads projects in a number of areas, including annual benchmarking for Mental Health and CAMHS, and undertakes a wide range of bespoke analysis for clients including NHS England, the Department of Health, Health Education England and individual member organisations.

Sue Ikin, Programme Manager

Sue has 20 years’ experience in the NHS and has worked in operations, service improvement, and commissioning sectors. Sue has held senior manager roles in acute care, primary care, commissioning and strategy.  Sue has a BSc (Hons) in Physics and an MSc in Strategic Leadership.  Sue leads on the Network’s projects relating to emergency care, outpatients, learning disabilities, primary care, and urgent care. She also leads on our work with commissioners and also undertakes bespoke analysis for individual member organisations, including NHS Improvement and other national bodies.

Lindsey Ashley, Network Communications Manager

Lindsey has a degree in Event Management, a CIM Diploma in Marketing and has worked in the NHS acute sector. With excellent healthcare experience, Lindsey manages the NHS Benchmarking Network membership, marketing, communications, exhibitions, websites and social media. Her role includes developing and implementing the Network’s overarching communication and marketing strategy. She also supports the Network Steering Group, organising regular meetings, the AGM and annual Away Day and manages the recruitment process/ elections when vacancies arise. Lindsey also supports the National Audits delivered by the Network.

Emma Pruce, Events Manager

Emma has a Bachelor’s degree in History of Art and a range of experience from non-profit, public and private sectors. Emma’s background focuses on customer service and membership engagement. Emma coordinates the Network's event programme, supports Network members and contributes to content for member communications. She also supports the National Audits delivered by the Network.

Stephen Day, Senior Information Analyst

Stephen is an information analyst with ten years of experience within the NHS. Stephen has a degree in Psychology and has worked in both community and hospital settings before joining the team in 2012. Stephen has a flair for system design and development and has developed innovative benchmarking products for clients and NHS Benchmarking members that benchmark: mental health services, CAMHS, acute therapies, and radiology. Stephen leads on the development of new tools and products including an excel based system to generate bespoke PowerPoint slides.

David Hughes, Front End Developer

David is a front-end software developer with over 10 years’ commercial experience. He is part of the Network’s IT team and leads on the development of the members’ area of the website, focusing on client-side technologies, user experience and design.

Lucas Wisniewski, Senior Software Developer

Lucas is a computer science graduate with previous experience working as a software engineer for a Silicon IP and Software company. He has previously worked on cross-platform automated software testing and quality assurance. Lucas develops and maintains the online data collection and reporting tools for the Network projects. His focus is on the database design and application interface.

Daniel Glass, Software Developer

Daniel is a Software Developer who has been working in IT since 2011, he is currently working towards a degree in Digital and Technology Solutions at Manchester Metropolitan University on an apprenticeship scheme with Benchmark. Daniel’s previous experience was as an IT service desk analyst, providing support and maintenance for hardware and software for a large retail business. In his current role with BMC, Daniel focuses on client side technology and manages the IT infrastructure of the business.

Jess Grantham, Project Technical Developer

Jessica graduated from university with a degree in Economics. Jessica has supported five Benchmarking cycles for the Networks community sector. She now project manages the Planned Care projects and Theatres projects. Jessica also works as part of the Network's National Audit of Intermediate Care and National Audit of Care at the End of Life teams.

Lucy Trubacik, Project Manager

Lucy joined the team as a Project Coordinator in March 2016. She has a mathematical background, having obtained a BSc in Mathematics she went on to teach the subject at secondary level for over three years. Lucy supports the community and intermediate care projects for the Network. Her role includes assisting Network members with queries, member engagement and supporting data validation and analysis.

Jessica Walsh, Project Manager

Jessica graduated university with a degree in English Literature and joined the team in October 2016 having previously worked on several projects within the finance sector. Jessica works as part of the Commissioner projects team, supporting Urgent Care and Planned Care, as well as assisting on several bespoke projects for Mental Health. Jessica is the Assistant Project Manager for the National Audit of Care at the End of Life.

Chris McAuley, Assistant Project Manager

Chris joined the team as a Project Coordinator in September 2016 and is now an Assistant Project Manager. He has obtained a BSc in Geography, and an MA in Environmental Management and Consultancy. Chris supports the Radiology, Outpatients and Acute Therapies projects, and also assists on a number of bespoke projects for NHS Wales.

David Barker, Assistant Project Manager

After completing his Economics & Politics degree at the University of Leeds, Dave gained experience in the health sector in both account coordination and research roles in the UK and Bangladesh prior to joining the NHS Benchmarking Network / BMC. Dave works as part of the Mental Health projects team, supporting the Adult Inpatient and Community project and Forensic Mental Health streams, as well as providing support on the Pharmacy & Medicines Optimisation project.

Josh Davies, Project Coordinator

Josh joined the NHS Benchmarking Network as Project Coordinator having graduated with a BSc in Economics the previous summer. Josh primarily supports the National Audit of Intermediate Care project and some Acute Sector projects. In addition, Josh helps register new users and aids them in navigating our website and outputs.

Joylin Brockett, Project Coordinator

Joylin joined NHS Benchmarking Network having graduated from The University of Leeds in BSc: International Business and Economics. She works on The National Audit of Care at the End of Life (NACEL), Commissioning and Community Services projects. Joylin further assists in registering new members and answering membership queries.

Ellie Perchard, Project Coordinator

After completing her Philosophy degree from the University of Hull, Ellie led multiple recruitment campaigns in the Finance and IT sectors. Since joining the NHS Benchmarking Network as a Project Coordinator, Ellie has taken an active role on the Radiology, Theatres and Pharmacy projects. Ellie also assists with membership registration and queries.

Alexander Ng, Project Coordinator

Alexander graduated from University with a degree in Chemistry and joined the team in June 2018.  Alex works as a Project Coordinator within our Mental Health team, focussing mainly on Children and Adolescence Mental Health Services (CAMHS), learning disabilities, and supporting a number of bespoke projects including the London Mental Health Dashboard.
